Goulioumis Anastasios is an Otorhinolaryngologist, Head/Neck Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Anatomy, at the Medical Department of the University of Patras. Originally from Patras, he graduated from the Experimental School of the University of Patras and was admitted to the Medical Department of Patras in 1997. He received an honorable mention by graduating 2nd among the graduates of July 2003.
He specialized in Otorhinolaryngology – Head/Neck Surgery at the ENT department of the Athens Children's Hospital "Agia Sophia" and at the University Hospital of Patras where he received his specialty title in 2014. He has also received the European Board of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck specialty title Surgery after oral and written exams. As part of his specialty, he moved as a visiting physician for 3 months at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary – Harvard Medical School. He has worked as an ENT Clinical Fellow at the University Hospital of Cambridge, UK, Addenbroonke's Hospital.
He holds a master's degree (MSc) from the Basic Medical Sciences program with specialization in Molecular Anatomy of the Medical Department of Patras (2005) and the Anatomy Training Program of the Anatomical Society, UK and the American Association of Anatomists (2023). He holds a PhD from the Medical Department of the University of Patras with basic research on the molecular phenomena involved in laryngeal cancer metastasis (2008). He has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Cell and Molecular Biology Department of the Karolinska Institute – Stockholm, Sweden.
He has been a collaborator of the Anatomy laboratory of the Medical Department of Patras in the teaching of head-neck anatomy from 2008 to 2023, being evaluated with high scores by the students as well as teaching staff in five postgraduate programs. He has participated in the training of the undergraduate students of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Descriptive Anatomy II) with the presentation of cervical preparations in cadaveric material.
He has worked for 8 years as consultant of Otorhinolaryngology - Head/Neck Surgery at the Karamandanio Pediatric Hospital of Patras with participation in the educational program of ENT and Pediatrics residents at the Karamandanio Hospital and the University Hospital of Patras.
He is the author, so far (2023) of twenty-one articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals. He has given 8 lectures at conferences as an invited speaker. He has 23 free and posted conference papers. He is a reviewer in 28 scientific journals. He has attended numerous conferences and educational seminars in Greece and abroad.
He is a member of the Medical Association of Patras, the Medical Association of Great Britain, the Panhellenic Rhinological Society, the Panhellenic Children's ENT Society, the Panhellenic Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, and the Anatomical Society of Great Britain.
