Dr Vasiliki Bravou is a physician obtained her MD with distinctions in 2001 at the School of Medicine, University of Patras. She holds an Msc (2003) and a PhD (2006) from Medical School, University of Patras. Dr Bravou was trained in Pathology (2007-2011) at the Department of Pathology, Agios Andreas, Hospital of Patras and also at the Department of Histopathology, Hammersmith Hospital, London UK (2010), where she specialized in Renal Pathology and Electron Microscopy under the supervision of Prof T. Cook. In 2011 she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Anatomy, Medical School, University of Patras.She teaches Anatomy, Histology and Embryology in first and second year medical students and co-ordinates and teaches the pregraduate course Molecular Anatomy. She also co-ordinates the post graduate course Molecular Anatomy (Postgraduate program Applications of Basic Medical Sciences) and she  teaches various subjects in three Postgraduate Programs, organized by the University of Patras (Applications of Basic Medical Sciences, Life science informatics, Biomedical Engineering). Her research focuses on: 1.Cancer molecular pathology (mechanisms of invasion and metastasis, tumour microenvironment, actin cytoskeleton and integrin -associated proteins, TGF- signaling, EMT, cancer stem cells and chemoresistanse)2.  Renal Pathology )  3.Molecular pathogenesis of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Bravou has published over 27  original articles in high-impact peer reviewed journals in her field (Citations: 491, h-index:13, I-10 index: 14), she has participated as a collaborating investigator/researcher in 4 national grants and she is involved in national and international collaborations in the field of cancer biology-pathology and renal pathology.
