Γενική Περιγραφή

• The incidence of vascular diseases has increased particularly in our country due to the increase of the median survival of the population and increased prevalence of risk factors. As a result, the need for care of patients with vascular problems has increased.
• Due to the fact that vascular disease does concern several other medical specialties, the knowledge gained will be useful for most medical specialties attending students choose in the future.

• The allocation of teaching hours are nine to arterial disease, two hours for venous disease and one hour for lymphatic disorders.
• The teaching includes class presentations with slides, clinic rounds and outpatient attendance and after arrangement observation of Vascular Surgery procedures in the operating room.

• At the end of the course the student is expected to understand the pathophysiology of a variety of Vascular Surgery diseases, their diagnostic approach and management.
• There is potential for participation in clinical or research work for students who wish to.

2. Extracranial carotid artery disease
3. Aneurysms of the abdominal aorta, peripheral and visceral arteries.
4. Acute lower limb ischemia. Vascular Trauma
5. Diseases of the veins (superficial and deep venous thrombosis, chronic venous disease)
6. Diabetic foot. Diseases of the lymphatic vessels.
