Summary of Curriculum Vitae

Christos Triantos graduated from the Medical School of Ioannina, performed his rural practice in Platanos Regional Clinic, Aetolia-Acarnania prefecture and in 2002 acquired the specialty of Gastroenterology at the B' Gastroenterology Clinic, «Evaggelismos» Hospital, Athens, under the supervision of Professor A. Avgerinos. In 2003 he received a scholarship from the Greek Association for the Study of the Liver for training at the Liver Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Unit, Royal Free Hospital in London under the supervision of Professor A.K Burroughs. In 2004 he worked as a scientific associate in Gastroenterology Department of «Polikliniki» Hospital, Athens as a fellow of the Professional Association of Gastroenterologists. In 2005 he received his PhD with "Excellent" from the Medical School, University of Athens. From 2005 to 2018 he served as Consultant Gastroenterologist in Greek NHS, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, University Hospital of Patras. In 2010 he became a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He has served as a Part-time fixed-term private law (in accordance with provisions of Decree 407/1980) lecture in the academic years 2015-16 and 2016-17. In July 2017, he was elected Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Patras, Patras and assumed his duties in February 2018, while in February 2022 he assumed the duties of Associate Professor. His research interest is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with liver diseases, idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease and motility disorders of the digestive system. In addition, he was involved in clinical and research with invasive endoscopy and ERCP. He has given 125 lectures and participated in 145 publications in international scientific journals, such as Nature Reviews in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Gut, Journal of Hepatology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, etc. He is a reviewer of articles and member of the editorial board in many international scientific journals. From 2020 until today, he has been the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal "Achaiki Iatriki" published by the Medical Society of Western Greece and Peloponnesus (IEDEP).
