Summary of Curriculum Vitae

George C. Kagadis, PhD, is Professor of Medical Physics & Medical Informatics at University of Patras, Greece. He received his Diploma in Physics from the University of Athens, Greece in 1996 and both his MSc and PhD in medical physics from the University of Patras, Greece in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He is a Greek State Scholarship Foundation grantee, a Fulbright Research Scholar, and a Full AAPM member. From January 8, 2014 to July 14, 2015 he has been a visiting Assistant Professor to UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he currently holds an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment. He has authored approximately 120 journal papers and presented over 50 talks. He has been involved in European and national projects, including e-health. His current research interests focus on dosimtery, Monte Carlo simulations, medical image processing and analysis, studies in molecular imaging, IHE as well as CAD applications. Currently he is a Deputy Editor to Medical Physics, AAPM Website editor, chair of the AAPM Website editorial board, chair of the European Affairs Subcommittee, chair of the Electronic Media Coordinating Committee, member of the AAPM Molecular Imaging in Radiation Oncology Work Group, Elctronic Media Coordinating, Equipment Donation Subcommittee, History, International Affairs, International Scientific Exchange Subcommittee, Newsletter Editorial Board, Online Learing Services Subcommittee, Placement Service Subcommittee, Advertising Revenue and Policy, and Work Group on Information Technology.
