Dr. Kiriakos Karkoulias was born in Patras. He studied medicine at the University of Padova, IT and graduated in 1996. He finished his specialty training in pulmonary medicine in 2006 in Dept of Pulmonary Medicine, University of Patras. He completed his doctoral dissertation in the Department of Medicine, University of Patras. He worked at the Department of oncology with expertise in lung cancer at the University Hospital San Gerardo, Milan, IT. He serves in the Department of Medicine, University of Patras since 2009 initially as a Lecturer and then at the position of Assistant Professor of Pulmonary Medicine. He is a member of Hellenic Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society. Research interests include sleep disorders, lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
