International mobility for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Medicine 

The University of Patras / School of Medicine participates in various bilateral academic agreements that aim to promote research and teaching exchanges through mobility of students and staff. The opportunities are offered mainly through the Erasmus+ program, however several mobility opportunities through ad hoc agreements with institutions in the USA are also available. 
The School of Medicine has the following active bilateral agreements under the  Erasmus+ program: 

Austria:

• Erasmus+ code: A WIEN 64: Medical University of Wien, Austria, for all study cycles; i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies. 3 incoming students, 3 outgoing students (valid till academic year 2020-2021).

Bulgaria:

France:

The Netherlands:

Turkey:

• Erasmus+ code: TR ISTANBU 27: Acibadem University, Istanbul, Turkey, for all study cycles; i.e. undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies. 1 incoming student (for all three study cycles), 1 outgoing student (for undergraduate students) (valid till academic year 2020-2021).

All students have to fulfill the language requirements:

• A very good command of English, corresponding to a 550 score on the TOEFL-test or level B1 within the CEFR framework.

In addition to this, exchange students applying for clinical courses/rotations have to fulfill the following general requirements:

• Three years of study under a Medical Curriculum in the country of origin.
• Ability to take medical history and perform a physical examination of a patient.

Specific requirements may apply as well (to be specified for each individual discipline or clinic).

Different options

Exchange students without Greek language command can apply for the following type of courses/rotations;

• Curricular courses (see under Curricular courses)
• Clinical rotations; designed to fit the needs of incoming exchange students (see under Clinical rotations)
• Elective courses (see under Elective courses)

Please note that the options in English are limited and that a study place cannot be guaranteed.

Courses and clinical rotations are offered throughout the academic year (September - June) according to the timetable below. Please note that University of Patras / School of Medicine does NOT offer any courses/rotations during summer holidays (July and August).

The School of Medicine has the following active Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the following US academic institutions:

• MOU with the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine (https://www.upatras.gr/en/johns_hopkins). This MOU refers to staff and students exchange between the two institutions, as well as the research collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
• MOU with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (https://www.mdanderson.org/education-and-research/education-and-training/schools-and-programs/global-academic-programs/index.html). This MOU refers to collaboration in developing training programs, faculty exchanges, oncology courses, and collaborative research projects to advance the understanding of cancer and improving cancer care.
